Does this sound like you?

You’ve invested strategically so far into your business, but when it comes to brand photography, the return has been hit-or-miss.

Sometimes you come out with dozens of photos you love; other times, it feels like the effort (and money) was wasted.

You’ve tried taking photos from your iPhone with limited success (food, flat lays, selfies…)—but even when you know conceptually what you want, the photos just don’t come out right. Without good photos, putting together dynamic webinars and sales pages that tell your brand story is HARD. This holds you back from building new digital products, sending emails, running ad campaigns, and ultimately, making money.

How Photo Styling Basics is designed to help YOU.

GET MORE OUT OF YOUR PROFESSIONAL SHOOTS

Discover techniques that will help you get more for every dollar you spend with your professional photographer—inside the class!

Finally—a way to post high-quality images consistently!

How many times have you heard it—from Amy Porterfield, Jenna Kutcher, Jasmine Star, James Wedmore, or your other favorite digital CEOs? Consistency is the key to growth.

But how can you be consistent when you don’t have awesome images to post every day on Instagram, or send out weekly in emails, or pin to Pinterest for your monthly blog post?

I’ll tell you: You can’t. As your competitors grow by the thousands each year in social follows and e-subscribers, you’ll grow in small bursts by the hundreds or even tens… because you don’t have the content.

But what if you could get the photos you need, right at home, without hiring an expensive photographer to take them all?

If you didn’t think it was possible, you haven’t heard about Photo Styling Basics.

Appeal to your ideal client with photos styled
specifically for them

Now you can take photos right from your phone that hold their own next to the photos from your brand photographer.

Never worry about the integrity of your Instagram grid again. When you know how to style images specifically for your target audience, you need not rely on quote graphics for filler—say good-bye to fluff for good!

In addition to foundational composition principles (that all the professionals use!), you’ll learn how to find the light, edit your images, and choose props, textures, and locations all based on your ideal client.

Sound like just what you need? Read on!

HOW TO CREATIVELY DIRECT YOUR NEXT SHOOT

  • More photos you love from every shoot (so your cost per quality photo goes down, down, down!)

  • Photos you can actually use purposefully in your business (instead of a bunch of photos that are pretty but just sit in folders on your computer and don’t work for your business)

  • Images that stand out to the kinds of clients and customers you want to attract (so you have fewer “problem clients” and a job you love doing more and more every day!)

Hi! I’m your hostess, Alexis.

photographer and photo stylist to creative professionals.

Valentine Room 01 PSD.jpg

I got into this business because I knew what I wanted in photography, and I couldn’t find it locally.

Maybe you know the frustration—seeing stunning images on Pinterest and Instagram, and believing if you just commit the two, three, even four hundred dollars to hire your neighborhood brand photographer, that look can be yours, too.

Only, much of the time, the photos come back and they’re not quite what you expect. Right? That’s how it was for me. Out of thirty or fifty photos, there were maybe six or eight I actually could use.

So then for the next year, if you’re like I was, you try to spread out the use of those really good ones in between shabby smartphone photos while you try to save up for a better photographer or figure out what you did wrong the first time around.

I’ll let you in on something: Your photographer struggles with this, too. Seeing beautiful photos online and thinking, “I learned technically how to use this expensive camera—what am I doing wrong that my photos just don’t stand up?”

The secret is styling.

Almost no one is teaching it. Maybe the few who know how to do it are so buried with work they don’t have the time. Maybe they don’t realize how special they are. But anyone can teach what buttons to use on a camera, so those classes are common. But styling? That’s a different story.

Until now.

What does it mean to "be a Sally"?

Photo Styling Basics is just what the name describes: a basics class for creating dynamic images. Both brand photographers and brand owners need this skill set in 2020.

The aim of the course is to help both brands and brand photographers do more with photography. This means different things for brand photographers and for brand owners.

The way you will navigate the course as a brand owner will differ from the way a brand photographer does. That's why special takeaways, bonuses, and supplemental materials are provided for creative entrepreneurs who don't own fancy cameras or have technical photography training, but rely on smartphone photos and professional photo shoots for content creation. These bonus materials are distinguished from the main course materials with an "avatar," indicating they are for Sally. Sally is the persona given to creative entrepreneurs taking the course, so that they know what materials were designated specfically for them.

Other materials are specially provided for brand photographers, and these are marked with a different avatar, Eva. You're more than welcome to view these materials as well; they are just made with brand photographers in mind.

Is this class live or recorded?

This is a pre-recorded class that includes eight core video lessons, plus some bonus video lessons and printable materials. That said, for the first public round of this course, the lessons will roll out one at a time, giving everyone time to test what they've learned and then share photos they've created in a private online community! Once all the lessons are rolled out, they are yours to keep for as long as the program exists. You can watch and re-watch the lessons on your schedule!

Do I get different lessons if I choose Eva as my avatar?

When the class opens, you'll have access to both Sally's bonus materials and Eva's bonus materials. If down the road you want to develop a more advanced photography skill set and charge for it, you wouldn't have to re-purchase the program to get Eva's materials. However, to keep from being overwhelmed, we recommend viewing and applying all information earmarked for Sally first!

In what format are the lessons?

Written and video! You get lessons that show plenty of samples of my photography and photography from other experts in overlapping fields in relation to the topic for that lesson. There are also some interactive components and printable materials/activities.

How "beginner" is this course?

If you have never had a photography lesson before in your life, don't worry - you won't be overwhelmed or intimidated inside this course! And if you've had a beginning course before that covered the basics of light and composition, fear not - the majority of the course is dedicated to styling, so the first lesson will be a refresher for you, but the other 7 lessons (and bonus materials!) should be full of insights and techniques you've never heard before.

My business is ___. Will I be able to use the information in this course?

I've worked with Etsy makers, florists, fashion and beauty brands, bloggers, wellness experts, gyms, boutiques, other photographers, and more. The foundational techniques I teach in this course have applied to all these industries, which range from education to products to services. Creating interesting images takes art and science, sure; but it's also essential to tap into your creativity. These lessons will get the creating part of your brain unlocked and flowing. How you apply the information to your business is up to you!

Can I enroll now and take any time?

Yes! This course is self-paced, and as long as the course exists, once you're enrolled you'll have access to it. If you want to enroll now to lock in the holiday price even though this is a busy time of year for you, you can take the course during a slower season. NOTE: The first day lessons are unlocked is December 14.

What's included when I enroll?

Excellent question! The course itself is eight core lessons, covering basics on everything from light and composition to prop styling, posing, and editing (from both desktop and mobile). Beyond this, the course includes several bonus videos, for both Evas and Sallys (brand photographers and creative entrepreneurs) to help them work better with their counterparts to achieve the best possible images to move their businesses forward. And you'll also get access to three exclusive ATG mobile Lightroom presets to start editing mobile photos with the tap of a finger! All of this is housed inside the membership dashboard, which will open on December 14, 2020.
